Overview

To take advantage of new features in the TRIOS software, it may be necessary to update the instrument firmware. This document provides the instructions required.

Updating the DHR Instrument Firmware

Follow these instructions to complete the firmware update process:

  1. Install the new TRIOS software.
  2. Turn on the rheometer.
  3. Open TRIOS software.
  4. Click the TRIOS button at the top-left corner of the application and then click Options.
  5. Select Discovery HR > Information from the left-hand panel. The following window displays.

  1. Click Update, located to the right of the Instrument Software window.
  2. Select the firmware to install from the list and click Update.

  1. Another window displays, displaying the current actions being performed on the instrument.

  1. The above window clears once the update task completes, the rheometer reboots, and connection to the instrument is re-established. This completes the DHR firmware update process.

Updating the AR Instrument Firmware

Follow these instructions to complete the firmware update process:

  1. Install the new TRIOS software.
  2. Turn on the rheometer.
  3. Open TRIOS software.
  4. Click the TRIOS button at the top-left corner of the application and then click Options.
  5. Select AR > Information from the left-hand panel. The following window displays.

  1. Click Update, located to the right of the Instrument Software window.
  2. Select the firmware to install from the list and click Update.

  1. A window showing the progress of the update displays. The DHR keypad flashes red and green, and the instrument screen reads Update in progress, do not turn off instrument.

  1. Another window displays, displaying the current actions being performed on the instrument.

  1. The above window clears once the update task completes, the rheometer reboots, and connection to the instrument is re-established. This completes the AR firmware update process.
